Miss World Philippines 2021 Tracy Maureen Perez has finally arrived in Puerto Rico for the 70th Miss World competition, which will be held on Wednesday, March 16 (March 17 in the Philippines).
“Safely arrived in Puerto Rico! I’m very happy I got here a day early and no flight delays, so travel time was just about 30 hours compared to last time’s 40!” she said via her Instagram page yesterday, March 13. “Let’s do this! Laban Bisaya, Laban Pilipinas (Fight on, Bisaya. Fight on, Philippines).”
The Cebuana beauty queen showed moments from her departure from the Philippines, to her arrival in what appears to be the hotel where she’ll be staying in Puerto Rico.
Perez also reunited with her fellow candidates Miss Côte d’Ivoire Olivia Yace, Miss Kenya Sharon Obara, Miss France April Benayoum, Miss Poland Karolina Bielawska, Miss Czech Republic Karolina Kopíncová and Miss Iceland Hugrún Egilsdóttir, as seen on Perez’s Instagram Stories today, March 14.
The Miss World pageant was initially scheduled in December last year but was postponed after 17 individuals involved in the beauty pageant reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 before the finals night.
Perez left the Philippines last Friday, March 11, with hopes of taking home the second Miss World crown for the country, following Miss World 2013 Megan Young. JB
