Sharon Cuneta expressed her grief over the passing of her ex-fiancé Tarlac Rep. Carlos “Charlie” Cojuangco as she wrote an open letter recounting the good times they shared.
Cuneta spoke about how she was in shock after hearing the news of Cojuangco’s death from her husband, vice presidential candidate Kiko Pangilinan, as per her Instagram page today, Feb. 23.
“I had never lost someone I was extremely close to and who was a big part of my life before, much less an ex-fiancé, until yesterday,” she said. “So sudden. So unexpected. Too young.”
The Megastar then looked back on their times together while expressing her gratitude for the good relationship she have with his family even after their relationship.
“Thank you for all the meals we shared as former partners-in-food and being a great shot as my partner in firing guns. For taking such good care of me. Most of all, thank you for the family I gained because of you,” she stated.
Cuneta added that though they didn’t end up together, they both found their happiness through their respective partners. The veteran actress also gave her condolences to Cojuangco’s wife Czarina Maria “China” Jocson and to their whole family.
“Rest now, Carlos. No more pain, stress, init-ulo (hot-tempered situations), problems,” Cuneta added. “Be happy in God’s loving arms.”
Cojuangco’s death was announced by Jocson yesterday, Feb. 22, but the cause of death was not disclosed. He was 58. JB
