Rihanna promises release of new music amid ‘exciting’ pregnancy
Rihanna assured fans that she has not put her music career in the back burner amid her “exciting” pregnancy journey with her first child.
The Barbadian singer talked about her pregnancy and the possibility of releasing new music soon in her exclusive interview with Entertainment Tonight, as seen on the TV show’s YouTube channel last Monday, Feb. 14. The interview took place at a red-carpet event for Rihanna’s beauty brands Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin in Los Angeles.
While Rihanna is trying to focus on “one thing at a time,” she promised that music can still be expected from her in the future. During the interview, she was asked if being pregnant would inspire her to release new tracks.
“Yes, you’re still going to get music from me. Not a lullaby. My fans would kill me if they waited this long for a lullaby,” she answered.
Rihanna then opened up about her pregnancy journey, joking that she has been loving “donuts, so far” during the experience.

“It’s a long nine to 10 months. You have to enjoy it. I’m trying to enjoy it as much as I could and fashion is one of my favorite things, so, you know, we’re defying what it even means to be pregnant and maternal,” she explained. “It can get uncomfortable at times and so you can dress the part and pretend.”
Rihanna revealed she is expecting her first child with rapper A$AP Rocky by showing off her baby bump last Jan. 31. The couple had been friends for many years before they started dating. Dana Cruz /ra
