Chito Miranda and Neri Naig’s eldest son Miggy, who is 5 years old, has received his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
The Parokya ni Edgar frontman, who also had his second COVID-19 shot in May 2021, showed his son with a bandage on his arm after he was vaccinated, as seen on his Instagram page yesterday, Feb. 10.
“Finally… bakunado na kami lahat (Finally… we’re all vaccinated). [Second] dose in [three] weeks,” he said.
Miranda then replied to one @muchas_gracia0312 who asked if his son experienced any side effects of the vaccine.
“Wala naman. Pwede daw lagnatin, pero wala naman naramdaman si Migs (Miggy),” he told the netizen at the time of his posting. (None. Accordingly he may have a fever, but Miggy is not experiencing anything.)
He also responded to one @joyciee.mojado who admitted she was scared to have her youngest child vaccinated.
“Wow, galing naman po. Ako’y natatakot pabakunahan bunso ko e. Good job, Miggy!” she said to the musician, who advised her to consult a medical professional. (Wow, that’s great. I’m scared to get my youngest child vaccinated. Good job, Miggy!)
“Consult your pedia po,” Miranda told the netizen.
Celebrity kids who also received their COVID-19 vaccines recently were Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes’ daughter Zia, Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo’s children Lucho and Luna, Bianca Gonzalez‘s daughter Lucia, and Marjorie Barretto‘s youngest child Erich.
The vaccination drive for children aged 5 to 11 started last Monday, Feb. 7. The Department of Health pointed out that the Philippines is following the footsteps of the United States and Singapore, which started offering COVID-19 vaccination for children under the same age range. /ra
