Ivana Alawi has finally fulfilled her dream to have her own skincare brand, Ivana Skin, after working on it for two years.
The actress-vlogger announced the launch of her skincare line on her YouTube vlog today, Feb. 11. Alawi described the brand as her “newest baby.”
“Pati itlog nilalagay ko sa mukha ko noong bata ko so it’s a love from [within]. Ever since, mahal ko talaga ang skincare. It’s my dream and happy ako na mashe-share ko na siya sa inyo,” she said.
(I even put eggs on my face as a child, so it’s a love from within. Ever since, I really love skincare. It’s my dream and I’m happy to now share it with you.)
Alawi also recalled her teenage years, when she was still insecure with her body and not familiar with proper skincare.
“Noong bata ako, hiyang hiya ako sa skin ko. Hindi ako makapag-sleeveless tapos nahihiya talaga ako. Wala akong confidence sa sarili ko and natuto akong alagaan ‘yung sarili ko,” she told fans.
(When I was a child, I was so ashamed of my skin. I could not wear sleeveless clothes and I was really shy. I did not have self-confidence and I learned how to take care of myself.)
Alawi’s siblings, Hash and Mona, were also present in the vlog to show support for the actress. Mona commended her sister for her efforts in the brand, stressing that Alawi would not release anything she is not proud of.
Ivana Skin’s products include body milks, soaps and creams, among others.
Prior to the launch of Ivana Skin, Alawi warned the public against scammers who used her brand to ask for money. She stressed that her team would not send messages to individuals outside of the beauty line’s official social media accounts.
Ivana Skin was “two years in the making,” as per the brand’s website. The products were tested by Alawi herself, who tried skincare products to find out that there were certain ingredients she considered her “favorite ones.” /ra
