Willie Revillame is leaving his Kapuso family as his contract is set to end this month, GMA Network confirmed.

The network announced the news through a statement on its Facebook page yesterday, Feb. 5. Though there were not much details about Revillame’s departure, GMA wished the TV host well.

“Willie Revillame’s contract with GMA Network is set to end on the 15th of this month. His show ‘Wowowin’ will air until Friday, Feb. 11,” it said. “We wish him good luck in his future endeavors.”

Meanwhile, speculations that Revillame will transfer to the Manny Villar-owned Advanced Media Broadcasting System Inc. (AMBS) arose after the two were spotted together in a photo posted by Revillame’s friend Efren Syyap on his Facebook page, also yesterday.

“[Good luck Willie B. Revillame] and to your new network,” Syyap said.

AMBS is taking over the television broadcast frequencies previously held by ABS-CBN Corporation, after the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) granted AMBS on Jan. 6 a “test broadcast” permit to use the coveted channel 2 spectrum. According to NTC, the permit will be effective until the final shut off of analog TV, earlier set in 2023. JB
