Kim Chiu encouraged the public to vote wisely in the upcoming elections and stressed the importance of choosing leaders who are “in love with justice” and humanity.

The actress and “It’s Showtime” host expressed her thoughts on what she believes good leaders should be like via her Twitter page yesterday, Feb. 4.

This comes after she commended those who attended the forum for presidential aspirants hosted by the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) on the same day.

“These brave candidates applying for the highest position in our country [bravely] faced and answered the toughest questions,” she told fans. “Applying for the highest and most powerful position is not a joke, one must know their duties and responsibilities at stake. [Six] years can change for the good.”

Chiu added that casting one’s ballot in the coming elections is a “powerful choice” and gives the public a “chance to be heard.”

“Let’s vote wisely! This is our only chance to be heard. Voting this election is the most powerful choice that we all have as tax payers and as Filipino [citizens],” she said. “We need leaders not in love with money but [in love] with justice. Not in love with publicity but in love with humanity.”

Chiu was among the celebrities who commended actress Angelica Panganiban for her recent video with non-government organization Young Public Servants about choosing the candidate to vote in the elections.

In the said video, Panganiban recounted how she was cheated on in her past relationships, noting that the public does not deserve to be fooled.

The KBP presidential forum was attended by presidential aspirants Sen. Panfilo Lacson, Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno, Sen. Manny Pacquiao, Vice President Leni Robredo and labor leader Leody De Guzman. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. declined to participate in the forum, citing conflict in his schedule.  /ra
