Bettinna Carlos has disclosed that she had a miscarriage as she expressed hope that fellow moms who also lost their babies would “find peace.”
The actress-TV host revealed her miscarriage by showing a positive pregnancy test and a sonogram on her Instagram page yesterday, Feb. 1. She also showed a message stating, “This child’s life, however brief, was full of meaning and purpose.”
“We were pregnant and then no more. To all the mothers who have lost their children before they could even hold them, feel them, see them (in the flesh or ultrasound), may you too find peace in this: God’s purposes for the lives of our unborn children were fully fulfilled however long or short they were IN us,” she said.
Carlos then told fans that she believes the life of an unborn child did not go to waste, the same way that her fellow parents still have purpose.
“[You], if you are still breathing, that means God’s purpose for you is not yet fulfilled — hence your very life and every breath,” she assured.
Despite her miscarriage, Carlos added that her situation gave her “fresh hope and new joy,” as well as assurance that she will meet her child someday.
“Lord, You were so gracious in giving to us and You are still good even in taking away. Thank you for the fresh hope and new joy You gave us even for a very short while. Thank you for the assurance that one day, in heaven, we will see and be with our child,” she said. “Thank you for what You give when You take away, what we gain from this loss.”
Chynna Ortaleza, Iya Villania and Nikki Gil were among the celebrities who sent their sympathies to Carlos and her family.
Carlos married her non-showbiz partner Mikki Eduardo on Dec. 2, 2020. She introduced Eduardo, an entrepreneur, to the public in August 2020.
At the time, Carlos said she prayed for a man who would accept not only her but also her daughter Gummy. /ra
