Kim Chiu is appealing to the public to already stop throwing hateful comments regarding the remark she gave about pouring boiling water to noisy cats last December.

The actress-TV host went under fire after she blurted out the said comment about cats in a segment of the ABS-CBN noontime variety show “It’s Showtime,” which aired on Dec. 6, 2021.

Chiu pointed out that she already apologized for what she said, while responding to a netizen who called her out and asked for her statement on the issue. Chiu addressed this on her Twitter page yesterday, Jan. 24.

“I really want to remain quiet on this, because this was a month or [two] months ago. I cleared this already, RIGHT AFTER saying those words, and asked for apology same day same segment, [because] I know that I will never do it and cleared that [it’s] not really [gano’n] (like that),” she explained.

Chiu talked about how the videos circulating in social media were cut into parts and left out the part of the episode where she apologized and explained herself.

“But as usual some [Marites] will really choose to see the bad on that situation,” she added. “[Gan’on] naman minsan sa atin. Mas gusto ng karamihan palabasin kang… Super mean, yung diin na diin… kahit wala ka naman ginawa pa.'”

(But as usual some gossipers will really choose to see the bad in that situation. That’s how it is for us sometimes. A lot of people want to picture us as super mean, with much emphasis, even when you haven’t done anything yet.)

Chiu then reiterated her apologies, stressing how she did not mean what she said, and that she never did harm to any cats.

“Pasenya na po to all animal lovers, I didn’t mean to say those words, nor do those actions. Parang wala sa panahon [ngayon] ang gagawa ng [gano’n],” she stated. “Wag na natin palakihin pa, dahil wala naman talagang nasaktan.”

(I’m sorry to all animal lovers. I didn’t mean to say those words, nor do those actions. I think no one will do those kinds of things these days. Please do not make a big issue out of this, because no one really got hurt.)

Meanwhile, in a separate post, Chiu appealed to a netizen who called her out for supposedly blurting out words without thinking, as per Chiu’s Twitter page today, Jan. 25.

Ate, tama na po. This is one of the reasons kaya ako di nakapigil. Yung [mga] taong ganito mag salita, minsan mas worst pa nababasa ko. I already explained my part, kahit na di naman kailangan sabi ng team ko. But I just have to,” she said.

(Sister, stop already. This is one of the reasons why I was not able to hold back — those who speak like this. Sometimes I read worse comments than this. I already explained my part even if my team said I don’t need to, but I just have to.)

Chiu is one of the hosts of “It’s Showtime,” along with Vice Ganda, Vhong Navarro and Ogie Alacasid, among others. JB
