Veteran comedian Don Pepot, whose real name is Ernesto Fajardo, has passed away yesterday, Jan. 18, his son Michael Fajardo confirmed.
Don Pepot, 88, died of acute respiratory failure due to COVID-19, as per Michael’s Facebook page today, Jan. 19. He also gave the details of the wake, which will be open to the public on Saturday, Jan. 22.
“Our beloved Ernesto ‘Don Pepot’ Fajardo passed away yesterday at 8:32 [p.m.] due to acute respiratory failure; [COVID] confirmed critical. His wake will be at Solennelle Funeral Homes at Valenzuela, along Maysan Road,” Fajardo said.
Don Pepot, who started his showbiz career in the 1960s, has starred in numerous action and comedy films, including “John & Marsha ’85,” “Oki Doki Doc: The Movie” and “Si Agimat, Si Enteng Kabisote at Si Ako,” which marked his final project. The veteran comedian also received the FAMAS Lou Salvador Sr. Memorial Award in 2005. JB
