Sitti is currently in isolation with her 4-month-old baby, Osseah Lucille, who is considered a close contact after she tested positive for COVID-19.
The bossa nova singer assured fans on her Instagram page today, Jan. 15, that Osseah Lucille was not showing symptoms of COVID-19. Sitti is now on her fifth day of isolation and has been communicating with her eldest child Issiah Dañelle by slightly opening the door to the room where she is isolating.
“Can’t say I’m not enjoying my isolation. This is the most time I’ve gotten to spend with Lucybubs (Osseah Lucille), also, ngayon lang talaga ako tunay na nakapagpahinga (it is only now that I truly rested) since giving birth almost 4 months ago,” she said.
Prior to this, Sitti disclosed that her husband, entrepreneur Joey Ramirez, was isolating in a bedroom in their home. He has since gone out of his isolation and is currently taking care of their eldest child.
Sitti revealed last Thursday, Jan. 13, that she had tested positive for COVID-19. She explained that her baby had to isolate with her since she was breastfeeding and was advised by her doctor to continue doing so.
“Consulted with our [pediatrician] Doc Bistek and [obstetrician] friend Belle Goco-Raquiño. Bistek said to continue direct latching because Lucybubs needs it more than the risk of passing the virus to her, while Belle said that if I were to continue breastfeeding, then Lucybubs would have to be roomed in with me because considered na siya close contact (she is now considered a close contact),” she said.
Despite her condition, Sitti is grateful that she is not isolating by herself since she has her baby with her.
“It may be selfish of me but I’m glad that I’m not isolating alone, that I’m at least with one of my kids,” she admitted. “Praying still though that Lucybubs doesn’t get it.”
Sitti is also thankful that she and Ramirez did not get sick at the same time, so there would be one of them who could take care of Issiah Dañelle while the other isolates.
Some of the symptoms that Sitti experienced were headaches, body malaise and clogged nose.
Sitti and Ramirez married in Baguio City in 2015. They welcomed Issiah Dañelle in 2018 and Osseah Lucille in September last year.
The singer got vaccinated against the coronavirus while she was 32 weeks pregnant with her second child. She stressed that she and Ramirez “trust the science” behind vaccines. /ra
