Candy Pangilinan revealed that she is now in isolation after testing positive for the coronavirus. This is the second time she has contracted the disease, and she expressed fears she might pass it on to her family, especially her son Quentin.

The actress admitted that she is having a more difficult time in her second battle with COVID-19 as she opened up about her condition on her YouTube channel yesterday, Jan. 7.

“Naka-isolate po ako. This is the second time na nagkaroon ako ng [COVID-19]. The first time was last year, December,” she said. (I am isolated. This is the second time that I caught COVID-19. The first time was last year, December.)

Pangilinan noted that when she first got diagnosed with COVID-19, she did not experience any symptoms and did not pass on the disease to any of her family members. However, she is now suffering from various symptoms, leading her to worry about her family’s safety.

“No’ng unang beses po akong magka-[COVID-19], hindi ho sila nahawa at all. Wala po silang symptoms. Pero ngayon ho, hindi ko alam. I’m hoping, praying na sana hindi po sila mahawa,” she told fans.

(When I first got COVID-19, they did not get the disease from me. They did not have any symptoms. But now, I don’t know. I’m hoping, praying that they will not catch it from me.)

The actress experienced severe headaches, colds, chills, coughs and loss of appetite. Her family is yet to get tested for COVID-19 since they are asymptomatic and have been advised by doctors to wait a few days before getting tested. For now, they are communicating with the actress through a microphone outside her room.

Pangilinan, meanwhile, urged the public to be cautious when it comes to the coronavirus and to take care of themselves amid the pandemic.

“It’s really dangerous and it’s really out there, and you don’t know when you will get it,” she reminded the public. “Akala ko dati na parang sipon. Ngayon po, kung meron kayong sipon, i-assume niyo na po na meron kayong [COVID-19].” (Before, I thought it was just like the common cold. Now, if you do have a cold, assume that you have COVID-19.)

Despite her condition, Pangilinan remains optimistic and is still grateful because she can isolate safely at home.

“Even though I have [COVID-19] right now and it’s the start of the year, believe it or not, I am still very grateful because I am isolated here in the house. I am still very blessed,” she said.

Pangilinan then asked the public to pray for her recovery and for her family’s safety. Fellow celebrities Vina Morales, Angeline Quinto and Yayo Aguila expressed their wish for the actress to get well soon.  /ra
