Gabbi Garcia and Khalil Ramos have finally visited a cinema for the first time in two years, after a long time of dealing with COVID-19 restrictions amid the pandemic.
The actress gave fans a glimpse of her movie date with Ramos on her Instagram page yesterday, Nov. 17. The couple can be seen sitting one seat apart in an empty movie theater and showing their tickets in front of a booth.
Garcia also appeared to be ecstatic over the experience as she posed with other companions in the cinema and jumped in front of the movie theater’s sign.
“At last! After [two] years! Wooohooo!” she said.
Fellow celebrities felt happy for the couple, including Gab Valenciano and Chynna Ortaleza. Fans of the actress also expressed their excitement to watch movies in cinemas again.
“[Oh my god] fun. Enjoy guys!” Valenciano told Garcia and Ramos.
“Shucks, nakakaiyak (tearjerker),” Ortaleza, meanwhile, said.
Several movie houses reopened their doors to the public earlier this month, after being shuttered for more than a year due to coronavirus restrictions.
According to the Cinema Exhibitors Association of the Philippines (CEAP), cinemas will only accept fully vaccinated individuals who can present proof of their vaccination.
The Interagency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases allowed a maximum capacity of 30 percent for indoor movie houses last October, when Metro Manila was placed under Alert Level 3. Moviegoers should also be seated one seat apart while wearing face masks at all times.
Metro Manila is now under Alert Level 2 until Nov. 30. /ra
