Sharon Cuneta admitted she has a “heavy heart” as her family goes through the election period, where two men she cares for are vying for the position of Vice President.
The Megastar’s husband Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan is running for the position of Vice President in the upcoming 2022 elections. Sen. Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, with whom the actress is connected through her aunt Helen Gamboa, also filed his candidacy for the same position.
Cuneta opened up on how she feels about the elections as she returns from her recent vacation to the United States, as seen on her Instagram page today, Oct. 12. Cuneta flew to the United States last week to surprise her daughter Frankie. The actress has since returned and is currently under quarantine in Manila.
“I come home with a happy but heavy heart. Two men I greatly love — one whom I have known since birth and the other one I exchanged solemn vows with 25 years ago — are about to vie for the second highest position in the country,” she said.
Given this, Cuneta hopes that her family would not doubt her love for them once the elections are over.
“I do not know what I could have done so wrong to find myself in the midst of two rocks. What could I, can I do?” the actress lamented. “I pray that after this game called politics is over, that wounds are healed, loved ones do not doubt your love for [them] and I and my sisters, especially, the only family I have left besides my own, find our way back to one another’s arms, unscathed and free of the pain our battle scars have brought us.”
“May God bless us all. May God help me through this trying period. Please pray for all of us,” Cuneta told fans.
Prior to this, the Megastar’s daughter KC Concepcion expressed her support for Pangilinan through her Instagram page last Friday, Oct. 8. For Concepcion, Pangilinan’s bid for the vice presidency is their family’s “biggest milestone yet.”
Meanwhile, Frankie who is studying in New York, recently bonded with Jillian Robredo, daughter of Pangilinan’s running mate, Vice President Leni Robredo. JB
