Canadian singer Carly Rae Jepsen dressed up as an old lady to mark the 10th anniversary of her hit pop track “Call Me Maybe.”

Jepsen showed the song’s original cover art, along with two other versions featuring herself from the “future” and “present,” on her Twitter page yesterday, Sept. 21. The photos were taken by the original cover art’s photographer, Vanessa Heins.

In one photo, Jepsen can be seen wearing a beige shawl and yellow heels while sporting cropped blonde hair. Meanwhile, another version of the cover shows Jepsen as an old woman with gray hair, glasses and a knitted shawl.

“It’s been 10 years since ‘Call Me Maybe’ and this is how that makes me feel,” she said.

The singer then narrated the first time she heard strangers talking about her music when she was still working as a waitress, through another Twitter post, also yesterday.

“A direct quote I overheard was something like, ‘This girl Carly Rae Jepsen was on repeat over and over our whole trip and we are so sick of it.’ Some of them sang the song in a mocking voice, oblivious to the fact that I was serving them food,” she said.

Despite the incident, Jepsen recounted how she felt giddy because people started to know her name and her song.

“These people outside know me! Okay, they don’t know me per se but they know my music!” she recalled telling her manager at the time. “[And] they hate it but they know it and I’m kinda weirdly proud of it!”

Jepsen also encouraged fans to never give up on their dreams and thanked them for all the “wild nights together in different countries.”

“You have opened my world and my heart with this adventure of a song and I could not be more grateful to you all,” she added.

“Call Me Maybe” was first released as a single in September 2011 and was later included in Jepsen’s 2012 EP “Curiosity” and her studio album “Kiss.”

The song brought Jepsen two Grammy nominations for Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.  /ra
