Zsa Zsa Padilla has braved heavy rains to visit the grave of her late longtime partner, Dolphy, on what would have been his 93rd birthday.

The singer paid tribute to the King of Comedy by showing a photo of herself beside his final resting place, through her Instagram page yesterday, July 25. She also showed a video of her drive to The Heritage Memorial Park in Taguig amid the rainy day.

“Happy birthday! I just remembered how it would normally rain during your parties,” she addressed Dolphy. “You seldom had a sunny birthday but needless to say, you brought sunshine [into] our lives.”

The Divine Diva added that Dolphy’s son, actor Ronnie Quizon, sent her a tribute video from a fan, featuring the song “Handog.” She noted that watching the video made her look back at the late comedian’s legacy.

“You most especially loved the lyric, ‘Tatanda at lilipas din ako… nguni’t mayrong awiting/kasiyahang/tawanang iiwanan sa inyong alaala.’ It was important for you to leave your fans and loved ones with your amazing body of work,” she recalled.

Padilla assured Dolphy that his fans and loved ones will remember him fondly. She also admitted that when she misses him, she would often listen to his songs, watch his movies and view old footage of the hit sitcom “John en Marsha” which ran from the 1970s to 1990.

“You will always be in my heart, Lovey. Thank you. Happy birthday,” the singer said.

Born Rodolfo Vera Quizon Sr., Dolphy passed away due to obstructive pulmonary disease in July 2012. He was 83 years old. He starred in various movies and television shows throughout his showbiz career, including the ABS-CBN sitcom “Home Along da Riles,” Mars Ravelo’s “Facifica Falayfay” and the Lino Brocka-helmed “Ang Tatay Kong Nanay.”

Padilla and Dolphy were together for 23 years and they have two children, Zia and their adopted daughter Nicole. Padilla is also the mother of singer-TV host Karylle, who is her child with her former husband, Modesto Tatlonghari. JB
