Derek Ramsay expressed relief after his parents have finally been discharged from the hospital following their battle with COVID-19.

“Having my mum and dad in [the] hospital fighting [COVID-19] at the same time is the scariest thing I’ve experienced in my life,” the actor admitted on his Instagram page on Friday, July 16. “Thank you, Lord, for keeping them strong and safe.”

Ramsay’s revelation was accompanied by a screenshot of a text message from his father, stating that he could be discharged from the hospital.

“Mum and dad [are] coming home! Yippee,” he added. Ramsay did not provide further details about his parents’ diagnosis but he revealed that they were treated at St. Luke’s Medical Center.

Ramsay then visited his parents after they were released from the hospital, as shown on his Instagram Stories yesterday, July 17. He showed his mother sitting next to an oxygen tank as he greeted her.

“Welcome home, mom. My mom just went through [COVID-19],” he said. His father can also be seen walking around their home as he waved enthusiastically at the actor.

“What a weirdo, look at this guy,” Ramsay quipped.
