Willful Starlet “ran away” with HR, defying her Formidable Mother; still the romance went pfft. Reality Champ thought she could tame HR, who persisted in straying from the straight and narrow.

Lastly, Soap Actress confused fact with fiction and fell in love with HR on the set. Turned out, HR was only acting; SA ended up weeping buckets.

End of a friendship

Flamboyant Celebrity and Gay Insider have been friends for ages. Money, however, got in the way:

FC relied on GI to promote a recent project. Much to FC’s disappointment, GI not only slept on the job – he ran away with a sizable amount! Now GI is in hiding, avoiding FC at all costs.

Anne belts it out

Although she’s often teased for her pitchy vocals on “Showtime,” Anne Curtis bravely sang the jingle of a new TV ad.

The unstoppable girl vows to record an album, to include a duet with Sarah Geronimo. That’s what you call gutsy.

According to a mole, Anne treated the sales staff of a Swatch store to an impromptu concert recently. “She wanted to prove she could sing,” said a witness.

And how was the free sample? Reply: “She had fun.”

Potty-mouth pair

Staffers have figured out why TV Host and Big Exec are best buddies: They could both give a fish monger’s wife a run for her cussing.

Faint-hearted staffers know TH and BE are likely to unleash F- and P-bombs in the workplace. TH, however, has been uncharacteristically somber of late. Is that because she has more pressing concerns, including Handsome Husband, who is said to be fooling around?

Hide and seek

Feisty Actress, famous for being fearless, once backed away from a potentially explosive situation.

A few years back, FA was vacationing in the United States, enjoying carefree anonymity. As she turned a corner, FA spotted two familiar faces – Network Boss and Beautiful Co-worker, hands clasped in a non-platonic way. NB and BC are both married, but not to each other.

FA was so embarrassed, she ducked to avoid the secret lovers.

Skip, hop, run …

You know the hot season is officially here when the networks launch their summer station IDs, or SIDs.

Both networks are presenting their 2011 SIDs today in their noontime shows –
ABS-CBN on “ASAP Rocks” (theme: sporty fun) and GMA on “Party Pilipinas” (theme: “halo-halo, appetizing and thirst-quenching”).

Kapamilya artists tackled various sports on-cam. Enchong Dee did parkour with real-life traceurs (from the Philippine Parkour and Free Running Association).

The girls gamely went on the trampoline. Anne Curtis had an easy time because she has a trampoline at home. KC Concepcion did a little stretching to prepare for the on-air split. Dawn Zulueta and Vina Morales fell, but said they had a blast; Jodi Sta. Maria helped child star Xriel Manabat conquer her fears on the trampoline.

Sam Milby took Vice Ganda for a few spins on his motocross bike. Derek Ramsay did Frisbee; Jake Cuenca, soccer. Gerald Anderson shot hoops; Jericho Rosales hit the swimming pool. Marc Nelson scaled a cliff; while Diether Ocampo zoomed away on a jet ski.

The sampaguita girl is Stephanie Cabral, 12-year old ballerina trained by Ballet Manila’s prima ballerina Lisa Macuja.

Bea Alonzo and Zanjoe Marudo had the same sked for their Binondo shoot.

Zanjoe arrived right before Bea left after her turn. Fans waited for a goodbye kiss – it did not happen.

Zsazsa Padilla on the trampoline could not stop shouting.

Derek had a big wound on his right forearm from a previous Frisbee game, but did not bother to hide it. He said that was the reality of playing the sport here in the Philippines, because most of our grounds are “unsafe.”

Mutya Orquia plays a mermaid in her soap opera but she was very scared of the water during her shoot in Subic Beach.

Kapuso ‘omnibus’

GMA’s SID is officially known as “2011 Halo-Halo Ang Summer Saya” omnibus TV commercial. It highlights the station’s new cards:

Richard Gutierrez comes back as Captain Barbell tomorrow; Edu Manzano hosts the refurbished “Family Feud: The Showdown Edition,” Chris Tiu steers “Man vs. Beast.”

Ali Sotto and radio DJ Papa Jack host the daily talk show “Star Box”; Jackie Rice leads the cast of “Sisid,” her first afternoon drama series, with Dominic Roco, Ian Batherson and JC Tiuseco.

Mark Herras, Kris Bernal and Rocco Nacino are featured in the awaited danserye, with the working title “Jump.” Carmina Villaroel takes on the kitchen with young (8 to 12) chefs in the reality competition “Amazing Cooking Kids.”

Carmina will also star in a prime time drama, initially titled “Munting Heredera,” with the original queen of Philippine movies, Ms Gloria Romero.

Marian Rivera has a new horror-comedy flick, “Spooky Nights Presents Bampirella,” a vampire tale. She likewise top-bills GMA’s most expensive prime time series to date, “Amaya,” based on Philippine epics. Her leading men are Sid Lucero and Mikael Daez.

The SID jingle is sung by Julie Ann San Jose and Elmo Magalona, who wrote the rap portions himself. The commercial will be shown in SM cinemas starting April 13.

The animal in the “Man Vs Beast” segment is a caracal, more commonly known as a Persian Lynx!

Marvin Agustin performed his own bartending tricks for the “Kitchen Superstar” segment.

Mark Herras, Rocco Nacino, and Kris Bernal choreographed their own dance steps for “Jump.”

The Special Kapuso Halo-Halo served in the video had all these ingredients: banana, mango, langka, buko, gelatin, monggo, red beans, sago, gulaman, rice crispies, kaong, pinipig, macapuno, nata de coco, ice cream, leche flan, ube, yema, and milk!

Tribute to Liz

PITTSBURGH – Elton John paid tribute to Elizabeth Taylor during a concert in Pittsburgh by dedicating a song to the movie icon and Aids activist.
Taylor died Wednesday. The singer is also active in Aids awareness and said during Wednesday night’s concert that it was “a sad day because today I lost a friend and you lost a hero.”

In Live Nation video supplied to WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh, John says Taylor “stood up when no one was prepared to stand up and be counted against AIDS.”

John played “Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me” after saying, “God bless you, Elizabeth. God knows how we’re going to replace you. This is for you and your beautiful memory and for all of the people you helped and saved.” AP

Book of celebs

NEW YORK – Actress Kate Winslet will author a book of celebrity self-portrait photos by Ben Stiller, Jude Law, Meryl Streep and others to support the treatment of autism, Simon & Schuster said on Thursday.

Winslet organized the collection of self-portrait photos for the book titled “The Golden Hat” after becoming inspired by an HBO documentary she narrated called “A Mother’s Courage: Talking Back To Autism” that aired last year.

The film shows Keli Ericsdottir, an Icelandic boy who suffered from severe non-verbal autism, eventually being able to communicate. He now composes poems, including one describing a magical hat that enables an autistic boy to communicate.

Winslet asked more than two dozen celebrities to take a self-portrait photo wearing one special hat that was passed along, as well as including what their first words would be had they been suddenly able to communicate after years of being locked in silence.

Other well-known figures in the book include comedian Ricky Gervais, tennis player Maria Sharapova, singer Christina Aguilera and actresses Naomi Watts and Julianne Moore.

Proceeds from the book’s profits will benefit Winslet’s autism charity, The Golden Hat Foundation. Reuters
