Kim Chiu is now finally fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and has urged the public to get their proper doses too.

“Finally. I have prayed for this day to come!” the actress posted on Instagram yesterday, June 17, right after getting home from getting the jab.

“Seeing the [COVID-19] videos last year scared me, so many ‘what ifs’ on my mind. I made myself physically active by doing different workouts to help my lungs get stronger mas matinidi pa workout ko (my workouts are more intense) now than my marathon training before,” Chiu shared.

“But today, I am happy that I am #FullyVaccinated protection from major illness and to protect my friends, family, loved ones, and the people around me,” Chiu said.

Chiu shared that some of the side effects she noticed for herself after getting the vaccine is that she is “always hungry.” Meanwhile, fellow actress Ina Feleo echoed Chiu’s story, saying that she noticed the same side effect in her case.

Chiu also encouraged the public to “all get vaccinated to reach herd immunity.”

According to the Department of Health, 70% of the country’s population must be vaccinated in order to achieve herd immunity. The government is eyeing to first inoculate residents of the COVID-19 hotspots in the country, including Metro Manila, by November 2021.

Metro Manila is joined by the provinces of Bulacan, Cavite, Rizal, Laguna, Pampanga, Batangas, Cebu and Davao in a new geographical grouping that authorities call NCR Plus 8 for pandemic response purposes.  /ra
