Kakai Bautista called out the “toxic Filipino culture” of body-shaming as she promoted self-love amid being bashed by some netizens for her looks.

“I have come across so many [body-shamers these] past few days! And I just wanna say that… I do believe that food is very much essential in our lives. I LOVE TO EAT. And… pak (f*ck) all that Toxic Filipino culture says chubby is not sexy and healthy,” she said on Instagram yesterday, June 9.

She also called out skin color discrimination, slamming those who say that “Black, Brown, Morena, Kayumanggi is not beautiful.”

“REAL TALK. [Ang] daming kong kilalang payat na may [sakit] (I know many people who are skinny but have illnesses). And it’s not good. I will never be happy with that,” the comedienne disclosed.

“Ang dami ko ding kaibigan na Morena na haaaaay ang solid ng ganda (I also have many brown-skinned friends who are absolutely beautiful),” Bautista shared.

“We can never appreciate other people’s beauty if we don’t appreciate ours,” she added.

The comedienne’s post aptly came with a TikTok video of her dancing and flaunting her body, paying no mind to bashers.

“SORRY kung ikakalungkot ng IBA na mahal na mahal ko ang sarili ko (I am sorry if others are saddened by the fact that I really love myself). AND I AM ENJOYING every bit of what I am now and every second of my life,” Bautista stressed.

“Iksi ng buhay, wag mong pakialaman ang buhay ng iba. Pakialaman mo yung sayo. Gawing mong maganda, masaya at kapaki-pakinabang!” she added.

Bautista then aptly concluded her post with the hashtags, “#NoToBodyShaming” and “#Confidenceispower.”  /ra
