SB19’s Pablo wins at Djooky Music Awards for song ‘Determinado’

Pablo of the P-pop boy band SB19 has won the Djooky Music Awards (DMA) Spring Edition 2021 for “Determinado,” his collab song with rapper Josue.

“Drumroll.. the winner of the DMA Spring Edition is Pablo from Philippines with a song Determinado! Congratulations to the winners!” DMA announced on its Twitter page on Monday, May 31. It also showed a video featuring photos of Pablo and stated the duo as “Spring Season Winners 1st place.”

The band DMP and singer Mossa, which are acts from the Solomon Islands, were awarded the second and third places, respectively.

“Determinado,” which was the Philippines’ entry for the international competition, also bested finalists from countries such as the United States, Peru and Russia.

It was judged by a seven-member panel that consisted of music producers from around the word, including singer Christian Bautista, according to the DMA’s website.

Pablo celebrated his DMA win by addressing his fans through his Twitter account, also on Monday.

“Thank You A’tin!!! I love you alll! @josuengmusika Panalo!” Pablo said. He also thanked the DMAs for helping him learn about various cultures.

“You’ve helped a lot of artists through this platform and I hope the community gets even bigger. I got to listen to amazing artists from all over the world. Somehow, I also got a glimpse of their culture,” he said.

Pablo will either receive a $20,000 (over P950,000) cash prize or an all-expenses-paid trip to record a song with American producer Brian Malouf in Los Angeles, as per a release by the DMA. JB
