Celebrity doctor Vicki Belo encouraged the public to also get vaccinated against COVID-19, after she received her second AstraZeneca shot.
“I’m getting my second AstraZeneca vaccine. Finally, I’m going to be fully vaccinated. Oh my gosh, wish me luck!” Belo said as she showed a video of her getting the shot, through her Instagram Story yesterday, May 31.
Belo asked if she looked frightened in the video, where the medical worker can be heard telling her to breathe in and out.
“Did I look scared? But really, it wasn’t that bad!” she said. Belo noted that while receiving the vaccine hurts “a bit,” the pain that came with it was tolerable.
After getting the shot, Belo said the healthcare worker who administered her vaccine did a good job and she celebrated by saying, “Second! Complete!”
“If you haven’t gone to to get vaccinated yet, this is your sign to go and get it!” she urged everyone.
Belo falls under the government’s A1 vaccine prioritization category, which covers healthcare professionals.
She has been providing support for frontliners fighting the pandemic. Last April, she volunteered with her fellow doctor-to-the-stars and husband Hayden Kho for the COVID-19 vaccination program in Makati City by administering vaccine doses to locals.
Belo also donated meals to frontliners and gave personal protective equipment to hospitals in March last year. JB
