Angelica Panganiban slammed over ‘palakasan’ complaint against Red Cross Subic
Angelica Panganiban faced criticism following her remarks against a Philippine Red Cross swabbing facility in Zambales, where she claimed some patients were being accorded preferential treatment.
“Hello [Red Cross Subic!] Isang oras na kami sa dito sa parking area niyo. Nakaalis na din mga nakasabay namin. At inuna niyo pa yung ibang bagong dating. Okay lang naman kung palakasan. Tweet ko na lang,” the actress said on her Twitter page yesterday, May 25.
(Hello Red Cross Subic! We have been waiting in the parking area for one hour. Others who arrived with us have left. You even accommodated the newcomers. It’s okay if there’s preferential treatment. I’ll just tweet about it.)

Nung huling beses ako nag pa swab sa red cross, muntik akong mabaliw. Nag padala sila ng email na positive ako sa covid. Pero yung attachment result, negative ako. Ginawa nila yun sa buong olongapo guys 🤷🏻♀️ nag sorry naman sila after 12 hours.

Netizens and some medical frontliners, including those working in the facility, slammed Panganiban for her rant.
“People who were swabbed before you sa parking, we’re actually [ill] and yung isa nga ambulansya pa eh. Di mo ba kita ma’am? Ang pagiging artista ma’am di kasama sa priority list, yet, lumabas ako to swab yung kasama nyo,” one @iammarkyy_ said.
(People who were swabbed before you in the parking were actually [ill] and one of them was even in an ambulance. Didn’t you see, ma’am? Being an actress doesn’t make you part of the priority list, yet I went out to swab the person you were with.)
He also showed a photo with Panganiban in the facility’s parking area and told her to set up an early appointment if she wants to get a swab test.

One @kimoicachu called Panganiban “entitled,” pointing out that other people had to wait in line in a tent: “Pasalamat ka nga you were comfortable sa car mo habang naghihintay.. eh yung mga nasa tent? Mahiya ka girl!” (Be grateful you were comfortable in your car while waiting… how about those [waiting in] tents? Have some shame.)

Other netizens also demanded a public apology from Panganiban, stating that she should not have visited the facility again if she already had a bad experience with them before. JB
