Gary Valenciano will be singing at the United States’ virtual celebration of the National Day of Prayer tomorrow, May 7 (May 6 in the US).

The 56-year-old artist, known as a devout Christian, will be among the artists performing for the special day, which the US celebrates every first Thursday of May.

“Prayer is one of the most important aspects of the Christian faith, and right now our country needs prayer more than ever,” Valenciano announced on his social media pages earlier today, May 6.

Filipinos can watch the event via Pray.com’s and Valenciano’s respective Facebook pages starting at 7 a.m. tomorrow. Those in the US may, meanwhile, tune in to Pray Radio on Sirius XM or register via Pray.com to be included in the event.

Valenciano’s announcement came with a video promo for the said event, which features several faith leaders and artists, including Valenciano himself, talking about the importance of prayer.

“It’s that connection – that solid connection – that takes place between you and the Creator of the universe. There’s no better way to stay in contact with Him,” Valenciano said in the video.

The artist is expected to perform his recently released single “Make Us Whole Again” for the special occasion. The said track is the first song he wrote since 2014.

Valenciano, dubbed locally as Mr. Pure Energy, last month celebrated his 38th anniversary in the entertainment industry.  /ra
