Geneva Cruz is currently grieving over the death of her mother Marilyn who was tested positive for COVID-19.
“With hearts broken and full of sorrow, our family would like to let you know that our mom, Marilyn Cruz, is now in heaven,” she announced while showing a black-and-white photo of her mother on her Instagram page yesterday, April 19.
“She is gone too soon, and no one can ever replace her in our hearts. See you on the other side, mama,” she added.
Cruz stated that her mom appeared to be getting better last week, as she was no longer placed in critical care and was able to watch TV again.
Hours prior to her announcement of her mother’s death, Cruz told her fans that her mother suffered from severe pneumonia and needed to be intubated.
She showed a photo of Marilyn smiling as they talked through a video call on her Instagram page, also yesterday.
“This was her yesterday. How can she not be okay today when she was okay yesterday?! I don’t understand this!!! She’s supposed to be getting better,” Cruz said.
The singer first announced that her mother tested positive for COVID-19 on April 11. At the time, she held an online show to raise funds for Marilyn’s treatment. JB
