Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda has reiterated his take that Tanya Markova is one of the top bands in the Philippines today.

Miranda took to social media earlier today, April 3, to express his appreciation for the eight-piece group, hailing it alongside some of his favorite Filipino bands.

“Sinabi ko na dati na at sasabihin ko ulit: isa talaga sa pinakamagaling na banda sa Pinas ang Tanya Markova,” Miranda posted on Twitter and Facebook.

(I have said this before and I will say it again: Tanya Markova really is one of the best bands here in the Philippines.)

“For me, nandun sila sa liga ng pinakamagagaling kasama ng Urbandub and Ben&Ben (For me, they are in the league of the best along with Urbandub and Ben&Ben). I am such a fan!” Miranda added.

Miranda also commended Tanya Markova on its most recent album titled “Ang Mga Awitin ng Normal na Tao.”

“Naglabas sila ng album na panay fillers…panalo yung Anino (“Annie”) at [“Hid-Man”],” Miranda shared.

(They put out an album full of fillers… “Annie” and “Hid-Man” are the best!)

Being praised by the vocalist of one of the country’s most successful and renowned bands, members of Tanya Markova appreciated Miranda’s kind words.

“Maraming salamat po sir Chits (Thank you very much, sir Chits)!” Tanya Markova posted on Facebook, sharing Miranda’s post.

Tanya Markova, which was formed in 2004 and completed an eight-member lineup in 2006, is known for hits such as “Disney,” “Linda Blair,” “Picture Picture” and “Iglap.”

The band has since received several nominations and awards over the years, including Best New Artist, Best Music Video (“Disney”) and Best Live Act in the 2010 NU Rock Awards, among others.  /ra
