“The Voice Kids” alum Lyca Gairanod is now a proud car owner at the age of 16.
The teen proudly posed with her purchase, a black van, on Instagram last Feb. 27.
“Thank God. I got [a] new baby,” she declared.
Gairanod comes from humble beginnings in Cavite: her dad is a fisherman and her mom would try to make ends meet by scavenging for used bottles and old newspapers.
She gained national attention when she won the first season of “The Voice Kids” in 2014 under the mentorship of Sarah Geronimo.
The powerhouse singer signed with Viva last November, the same agency that Geronimo belongs to. She said it was the pop superstar herself who inspired her to join Viva.
Gairanod runs a vlog with over 1 million subscribers and is open about her unassuming background, such as giving fans a tour of her old home in the province. /ra
