Catriona Gray’s ideal husband: ‘Someone who doesn’t try to hold me back’

Catriona Gray got candid about her thoughts on love and life in a recent interview, where she opened up about aspects of her relationship with boyfriend Sam Milby.
The beauty queen sat down with writer G3 San Diego on her online show “#LivewithG3” yesterday, Feb. 22, and willingly discussed a bit about her love life.
Among the questions she fielded was what she wants in a future husband—a question that came from celebrity doctor Vicki Belo.
“I would say I’m looking for someone who has great respect for their parents and is very family-oriented because me being close to my family and my parents, that’s very important to me,” the Miss Universe 2018 winner said.
“Two, would be God-fearing because that’s just my belief system,” she noted.
“Someone who supports me in my dream and doesn’t try to hold me back or hold me down, or try to put limits on me because I can’t thrive with someone like that,” she stressed.
“I need the support because I am creative and when I have a vision or when I have something I want to go after, I need someone who can understand that and can support me through that.”
She was also up for answering a question from Boy Abunda, who asked who she is when no one is watching and when Milby is watching.
“Who I am when no one is watching? I am very quiet. I am very introspective,” she replied. “I allow myself to just almost be like childlike because being in the limelight, being in the public eye, I always have this feeling like I have to hold myself to a certain standard.”
Meanwhile, with Milby, she said, “I am very [malambing] (affectionate). It’s true, I’m just that type of person in a relationship. I am also very considerate and I am very mindful as a partner. That’s just the kind of person that I am. I am considerate of his feelings.”
She also discussed their love languages, saying she is about acts of service, while Milby offers service, time and gifts.
“Actually hindi ako masyadong relate sa (I don’t relate so much to) gifts because out of all the love languages, that’s the one that I don’t have. He’s really into gifts. I am one of those people that doesn’t know how to accept gifts well. I feel hiya (ashamed),” she revealed.
“But he’s very, very sweet. He’s really acts of service and time so we are able to relate to each other very well.”
