Jolina Magdangal took a trip down memory lane as she greeted her “labtim” Marvin Agustin a happy birthday with a throwback to a picture and letter he gave her back then.
“Labtim!!! Binati na kita kanina sa ‘Magandang Buhay’ pero gusto parin kita ipost. Naalala mo ba itong picture na ito na pinilit mo sakin ibigay? Hahahahahahaha!” Magdangal posted on Instagram yesterday, Jan. 29.
(Loveteam! I have already greeted you earlier on “Magandang Buhay,” but I still want to post about you. Do you remember this picture you insisted on giving me?)
The said photo shows a young Agustin, who turned 42 years old yesterday, Jan. 29, back in the ’90s that came with a handwritten message to his love-team partner.
“Hi! Sorry medyo late kasi pinuno ko pa ng names. Anyway, ito na ‘yung pinaka-gwapong picture if ever na magalit ka sa’kin h’wag mong pupunitin,” Agustin wrote. “Sana walang maglayo sa’tin kahit anong mangyari coz I’m very very happy to be part of your life even [if] love team lang (sana may kasunod pa! Joke lang).”
(Hi! I’m sorry if I’m kind of late, I had to fill out the names. Anyway, this is the most handsome picture ever, so if ever you get mad at me please do not rip this apart. I hope nothing will ever separate us coz I’m very very happy to be part of your life even if we are only a love team (I hope it develops! Just kidding.)
“Always take care of yourself. Always remember that I’m here whenever you need a friend, buddy! Love, Marvin. P.S. Sana ipabasa mo na yung pager mo sa’kin (I hope you’ll finally let me read your pager),” he added.
Magdangal found Agustin’s letter hilarious, saying, “At ang dedication ha. Natawa ako sa PS mo, lalo tuloy nahalata na 90s pa yung picture. Hahahaha!”
(And that dedication. I could not help but laugh at your PS, it is too obvious that the picture is from the ’90s. Hahahaha!)
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY LABTIM. Masaya ako at proud sa kung anong meron ka ngayon. Sipag mo kasi e. Stay healthy ha. Mwah!!! #MarJo (Happy birthday labtim. I am happy and proud of what you have now. It is because you are hardworking. Stay healthy),” she said.
Agustin expressed his gratitude via the comments section, telling Magdangal “buo na birthday ko (my birthday is now complete)!”
“[Salamat] (Thank you) my beautiful & sexy & kind labtim!!! See you soon!!!” Agustin said.
The Agustin-Magdangal tandem was one of the most famous love teams in Philippine show biz back then. They worked together in the 1997 film “Flames: The Movie,” “Hey Babe!” and “Gimik: The Reunion” in 1999, as well as in “I.T.A.L.Y” back in 2008, among others. /ra
