JC Cares celebrates the holiday season with seniors at Kanlungan ni Maria

JC Cares Foundation celebrated the Christmas season with the residents of Kanlungan ni Maria Home for the Aged Inc.

The JC Cares Foundation started with a mission to give back the success that JC Premiere Business International Inc. has received over the years with altruism and generosity as its driving force.

The company was founded in 2013 by Jonathan So, president and chief executive officer, and Carlito Macadangdang, vice president and chief financial officer.

They have since continued to carry out their humble mission, in keeping with their corporate social responsibilities, by giving back in building communities through their social organization arm, JC Cares Foundation.

From helping individuals who were affected by the aftermath of Supertyphoon Yolanda (Haiyan) that struck the Visaya in 2013 to making simple gestures such as feeding the homeless and supporting a home for the aged, JC Cares Foundation has been fulfilling its mission and will continue to do so in the coming years.

As part of its continuing project for the 2020 Christmas season, JC Cares Foundation provided assistance to Kanlungan ni Maria Home for the Aged Inc. by donating essential maintenance medications and supplements, groceries, hygiene kits, food, and JC products such as CopperMask and Calvit-C.

The foundation implemented the project with Siomai King, Mang Bok’s, and toktok as the project’s delivery service provider.

Kanlungan ni Maria residents express their happiness as they receive CopperMasks.

The Antipolo-based Kanlungan ni Maria Home for the Aged Inc. is a nonprofit, nonstock and nongovernment organization that has continuously been providing geriatric care for destitute senior citizens since 2002 under the guidance of the Diocese of Antipolo.

Currently, the institution takes care of 21 senior citizens who had been abandoned or surrendered by their families who could not provide them with further care.

JC Cares Foundation was more than willing to give support to Kanlungan ni Maria Home for the Aged Inc. last Dec. 28, when its volunteers and staff facilitated the turnover of donations and met with the senior citizens.

Residents enjoy their lunch from JC Cares Foundation, provided through the support of Mang Bok’s, Siomai King and toktok as the project’s delivery service provider.

As a precaution against possible coronavirus infection of the vulnerable residents, the foundation volunteers and staff underwent a nasopharyngeal swab for rapid antigen test and observed strict health protocols imposed by the facility and the Department of Health.

The volunteers and staff were welcomed by a warm song sang by the elderlies themselves to express their gratitude.

Kanlungan ni Maria resident give a heartfelt expression of gratitude after receiving donations from JC Cares Foundation.

The donations were accepted by Sister Marivic L. Caliso, SHC, as representative of the facility.

After the successful activity, the residents also bid the foundation team farewell with joy and laughter.

Hopefully, JC Cares Foundation had filled some of the voids in their hearts and made them joyful during the Christmas season.
