American rapper Lil Pump is now banned from flying with JetBlue Airlines for life after reportedly refusing to wear a face mask.
The 20-year-old artist, whose real name is Gazzy Garcia, was said to have refused to follow the said COVID-19 safety protocol on a flight on Dec. 27, as per Billboard on Dec. 29.
Lil Pump flew to Los Angeles from Fort Lauderdale during which he was described as “verbally abusive with crew members after being asked multiple times and refusing to comply with JetBlue’s face covering policy,” according to a statement from JetBlue spokesperson Derek Dombrowski as cited by the report.
“Law enforcement was asked to meet the flight to assist our crewmembers in notifying the customer his return reservation was canceled and he is no longer welcome to fly on JetBlue,” Dombrowski was quoted as saying.
“The safety of all customers and crewmembers is JetBlue’s first priority. Our policy requires all customers 2 years and older wear a [face covering] throughout their journey,” he added.
JetBlue’s policy requires all passengers two years or older to wear a face covering during flights, according to the report.
In a since-deleted video he posted on Twitter, Lil Pump hurled some expletives against JetBlue and its employees, as per TMZ on Dec. 28.
The rapper also promised that he would “never wear a face mask” in 2021 and that “corona’s fake,” following the incident.
