Annual MMFF Parade of Stars sets off online

MANILA, Philippines — The 46th edition of the annual Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Parade of Stars is set to kick off this Wednesday through a virtual event due to COVID-19 restrictions.

To minimize the risk of COVID-19, MMFF, for the first time, will virtually hold its Parade of Stars. Last year, the star-studded parade was held in Taguig City and was attended by a flock of celebrity fans and film lovers.

The virtual parade can be streamed online on the MMFF Official Facebook page. It will start at 2 p.m. and end at 7 p.m.

MMFF organizers in October announced that the two-week-long event will push through despite the pandemic and will be held “purely online.”

This year’s film fest entries can be viewed via the streaming site Upstream.

Among the 10 entries in this year’s official lineup are: “Tagpuan,” “Isa pang Bahaghari,” “Coming Home,” “The Missing,” “Magikland,” “Suarez,” “The Healing Priest,” “Mang Kepweng,” “Ang Lihim ng Bandanang Itim,” “Pakboys Takusa,” “The Boys Foretold by the Stars,” and “Fan Girl.”

The 46th edition of the MMFF is set to open on Christmas Day.
