MANILA, Philippines — While they always entertain their audience, these two comedians could not help but cry as they shared their experiences after being infected with coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Actor and comedian Wally Bayola confessed to GMA 7 Eat Bulaga’s “Bawal Judgmental” that he became relaxed by forgetting to take his vitamins.
“Nakalimutan ko magvitamins for one week, relax relax lang. Balewala ‘yung nakikita ko sa social media na ‘di naman totoo yung may COVID,” he said
(I started getting relaxed. I forgot to drink my vitamins for a week. I look at the information on social media that COVID-19 is a hoax.)
“Napagod na ako magmask, napagod na ako magface shield,” he added.
(I got tired of wearing masks and wearing faceshield.)
When he first found out that he tested positive for the virus, he said he collapsed and could not feel anything.
The actor also broke into tears when he started worrying about his mother.
“Sabi ko sa mama ko, ako magaalalaga sayo ‘wag kang malungkot. ‘Wag kang iiyak. Biglang ako yung.. mawawala,” he said.
(I told my mom I will take care of her, and that she should not be said. Then it turns out, I’ll be the one who will be gone.)
After the hardships, Bayola told the public to be vigilant and not be relaxed over the virus like what he did.
“‘Wag tayo maging relaxed. ‘Wag natin isipin na wala yan, gawa gawa lang ‘yan. Hindi po. Kasi nangyari sakin,” said Bayola.
(Don’t be relaxed, don’t say that the virus is nothing or it is a hoax. It’s not. Because I was infected.)
Meanwhile, another comedian Allan K, who also survived COVID-19, said he was rushed to the emergency room. He also stayed in the intensive care unit for three days and two nights.
He said he experienced symptoms of fever, loss of taste and smell when he got the virus.
Allan K turned emotional when he expressed his frustration over his other obstacles in the year 2020.
He said he lost his younger brother and 17-year-old sister this year. He also lost his two comedy bars brought about by the economic effects of the pandemic.
“Ano ba ‘to? Hindi pa tapos iyong taon noh. Tapos sabi ko sige, magpaospital na tayo,” said Allan, discussing how he was brought to the hospital when he was diagnosed with COVID-19.
(This year will not end. That’s when I agreed to go to the hospital.)
