Catriona Gray helped give away cash grants to the locals of Catanduanes and Camarines Sur weeks after typhoons ravaged the areas.

The distribution was part of the Philippine Red Cross’ relief operations in the region, as per the beauty queen’s post on Instagram last Sunday, Dec. 6.

Along with the cash grants, the organization and Gray also gave away shelter tool kits. The Miss Universe 2018 titleholder spoke with the residents as well while following precautions against COVID-19, such as wearing face masks.

Gray, whose mother comes from Oas, Albay in Bicol, then thanked all the donors who supported the cause.

“It’s one thing to call for awareness and donations on my platforms, but a completely different thing to be present in person when the aid is given,” Gray said.

Catanduanes and Camarines Sur were among the areas that were ravaged by Super Typhoon Rolly and Typhoon Ulysses last month. Following the two storms, nearly 60,000 people in the Bicol region were forced to move to evacuation centers. JB
