MANILA, Philippines — Actress Angel Locsin on Sunday expressed concern that the Department of Education is seemingly “unaffected” by the actions of a teacher who body-shamed her by describing her “an obese person” in a Physical Education (PE) module.
She made the remark after reading DepEd’s statement apologizing for a Facebook post showing part of a PE module that body-shamed her.

“I intended to ignore this issue, but when I read DepEd’s statement, aba teka lang,” she said in a Facebook post.
“What bothers me most is apart from teaching incorrect grammar to the students, DepEd seems unaffected that the said teacher is teaching bad conduct and sowing discrimination among the children,” Locsin added.
“Anong mangyayare sa future kung ang mga kabataan ay tinuturuan ng pambabastos at pangungutya sa kapwa?” she further said.
(What will happen to the children in the future when they’re taught to be disrespectful and ridicule others?)
Angel said DepEd should be held accountable and “must correct.”
The teacher who “body-shamed” her should likewise apologize to his or her students, the actress added.
“I am fortunate that I had teachers who value good manners and right conduct. Every child deserves to have teachers like them,” Angel stressed.
