Kim Chiu, who won in “Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition” back in 2006, still welcomes those who were against ABS-CBN’s franchise bid to join the Kapamilya reality show.
During the bloggers conference for her upcoming horror film “U-Turn” yesterday, Oct. 22, Chiu said she still hopes that those who voted “yes to ABS-CBN shutdown” will be able to achieve their dreams through “PBB.”
“Okay lang, at least ‘di nanaig ‘yung sinabi nilang yes to ABS-CBN shutdown. Meron pa ring liwanag at the same time, sa ginagawa nilang yan, sinu-support pa rin nila yung Kapamilya channel so parang kinain nila yung sinabi nila,” she quipped.
(It is okay because at least their wish to shut down ABS-CBN did not come true. There is still light at the same time, in what they are doing, they are still supporting the Kapamilya channel, so they just ate their own words.)
“Pero at the same time maganda rin kasi at least nabigyan sila ng hope na maging isang housemate and matupad nila yung pangarap nila for their family (But at the same time, this is good because they are still given hope to be a housemate and the chance to achieve their dreams for their families),” she added.
The actress also noted that this only means people still believe in ABS-CBN, saying, “because of this Pinoy Big Brother opening the house again sa lahat ng mga nangangarap, at least naniniwala pa rin sila na there’s still hope kahit na sinabi nilang ‘yes to ABS-CBN shutdown.’ Naniniwala sila na meron pa ring pag-asa dito sa ABS.”
(Because of this Pinoy Big Brother opening the house again to all dreamers out there, at least they still believe that there’s still hope here even if they said “yes to ABS-CBN shutdown.” They still believe that there is hope here in ABS.)
Chiu was among the most vocal celebrities who showed their support for ABS-CBN amid the franchise denial controversy. /ra
