Award-winning folk-pop band Ben&Ben has been nominated as the Best Southeast Asia Act for the 2020 MTV European Music Awards (EMAs).

The group will be the country’s entry for the said awards show and fans can now vote until Nov. 3, MTV Asia announced via Twitter on Oct. 6.

“[H]ello! [N]ominated tayo bilang BEST SOUTHEAST ASIA ACT sa MTV EMA 2020 [crying face emoji] pangarap talaga naming umabot tayo at yung music ng Ben&Ben sa iba’t ibang part ng mundo at super makakatulong itong once-in-a-lifetime opportunity if mapanalunan natin to,” Ben&Ben said on Twitter, quoting MTVA Asia’s announcement.

(Hello! We have been nominated as the Best Southeast Asia Act in the MTV EMAs 2020. It really is our dream for Ben&Ben’s music to reach other parts of the world and this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity will really help if we win.)

Ben&Ben will be vying for the title against Indonesia’s Agnes Mo, Singapore’s Benjamin Kheng, Malaysia’s K-Clique, Thailand’s Violette Wautier and Vietnam’s Jack.

This year’s MTV EMAs will air internationally on Nov. 8 via livestreaming due to the COVID-19 pandemic. JB
