Despite having no work for eight months, Sharon Cuneta is still in control of her finances.

The Megastar credits this to investment wisdom she has followed, like purchasing real estate, she said on her YouTube vlog Friday, Aug. 28 as reported by Inquirer Bandera.

She admitted that she has lost a number of projects amid the coronavirus pandemic.

“I lost two concert tours, one with Regine (Velasquez) and one in Australia by myself,” she lamented.

“This year, I would’ve been shooting my third movie by this time for the year kung hindi nagka-COVID. At meron akong corporate shows na sunod-sunod. Mga lima yata naka-lineup na hindi natuloy. Ang dami na po nawala.”

(This year, I would’ve been shooting my third movie by this time for the year if there were no COVID. And I was supposed to have consecutive corporate shows. There were about five lined up that were canceled. So much has been lost.)

“Pero sa awa ng Diyos (But with the grace of God), I was able to sell real estate just before last year ended and that is why I’m OK and nakakatulong (able to help),” she said of how she has stayed afloat. “And I’m still selling some properties.”

The actress shared her insights on investing and how this has helped her.

“I like things that appreciate in value,” she said. “I don’t buy expensive cars because they depreciate.”

“I love real estate because that’s what I learned from my dad and it has helped me get through tough times,” she said.

She loves buying jewelry as her mom did and sees them as investments too.

Cuneta stressed how much she loves giving, to those whom she loves, and even to those who are unaware of what she has given.

“Ang pinakaimportante sa akin, maraming natutulungan ang mayroon ako,” she said. (What’s most important to me is that I am able to help many with what I have.)

Friends in showbiz like Angel Locsin have attested to Cuneta’s generosity, such as when the Megastar donated P3 million for tents to address overcrowding in hospitals. JB
