Gary Valenciano raised over P1.2 million for families in need amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic through his benefit concert last Saturday, Aug. 22.
Following the show, the singer stated that they received a total of P1,247,177 from donors as of Aug. 23. The amount will be used to support ABS-CBN’s “Pantawid ng Pag-ibig” program, as per his Facebook post on the same day.
The said initiative aims to give food to families whose sources of income have been affected by the quarantine measures brought by the pandemic.
“On behalf of all those who will be helped by these donations… [T]hank you, mga Kapamilya,” Valenciano expressed.
Aside from Valenciano, the online concert also featured performances from his fellow artists such as Yeng Constantino, Martin Nievera, Jed Madela, and his children Kiana and Gab. Prior to his concert, Sharon Cuneta also held a benefit show for the same campaign last May.
