As “Eat Bulaga!” mark its 41st anniversary, one of its hosts Pauleen Luna looked back on her journey and how the noontime variety TV show changed her life.

“From that young teenager to the mom that I am today, Eat Bulaga was always there,” Luna said, recalling her first day on the show via Instagram today, July 30.

The actress narrated how excited and nervous she was on her first day as she joined its star-studded crew.

“I must admit that joining a group of very successful people at the age of 16 was very intimidating, but, the intimidation [disappeared] the moment [I] stepped in the studio,” she said.

She accompanied the post with a few snippets of her first day, one of which included a young Michael V right beside her while they were both dressed in school uniforms.

Luna added that at the time, her colleagues were very welcoming and immediately made her feel comfortable on set.

Fifteen years later, the host recounted some of the lessons she learned through the show and how it continues to help people reach their “full potential.”

“I’ve learned a lot by just being in the background, knowing and meeting people from different walks of life,” she said. “I would say I grew up, found my real authentic self in the show.”

Luna also acknowledged the people behind the camera and her “amazing” co-hosts: “[I] still can’t believe [I’m] friends with you all.”

The 31-year-old actress then highlighted the show’s role in helping her meet her husband, fellow “Eat Bulaga!” host Vic Sotto.

“I have found the man that my heart loves in this show,” she said.

Luna and Sotto celebrated their 4th wedding anniversary last January. The two are also proud parents of 2-year-old Talitha Sotto. The celebrity couple tied the knot in 2016 in a star-studded ceremony in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

The 66-year old actor was formerly married to actress Dina Bonnevie.

“Eat Bulaga!” resumed live studio tapings last June after pausing production for a few months to curb the spread of the coronavirus. NVG
