Nadia Montenegro seeks donations to help John Regala

MANILA, Philippines — Upon learning of John Regala’s plight, his fellow actors in the entertainment industry led by Nadia Montenegro did not think for a second as they were ready to help him out.

In an Instagram post on Wednesday, the actress said that she, actor Chuckie Dreyfus and veteran entertainment writer Aster Amoyo set up a “Gava Gives Assistance Account” for Regala.

“With the help of Nanay Aster A. Amoyo & Chuckie Dreyfus we have created a ‘Gava Gives Assistance Account’ for John and are now waiting for APPROVAL for the account wherein anyone who wants to help can send it through there,” Montenegro said.

Montenegro added that she has talked to Regala, but could not understand a word he was saying.

The actor, who is known for his portrayals of villains in films and TV series, is currently suffering from liver cirrhosis.

“I will be seeing him later together with a doctor friend that will take all tests brother John needs urgently,” she said.

The actress said that those who want to donate a wheelchair, daily food and medical assistance, and funds dialysis for Regala should send her a private message.

Regala made headlines after he was spotted by a food delivery driver along Barangay 183 in  Pasay City.

Aside from his poor condition, Regala disclosed that he has no contact with his relatives since the death of his mother back in January.
