Pinoy hip-hop icon Gloc-9 (real name: Aristotle Pollisco) had some words of encouragement for fellow Filipinos who have been struggling amid the COVID-19 pandemic and the many other issues hounding the country.
While admitting that he himself is afraid, Gloc-9 urged the public to keep fighting to survive and that it is okay to show fear during these dire times.
“Ok lang matakot mga Kababayan. Ako natatakot din ako pero alam ko din na walang nagiging matapang na hindi dumadaan sa takot,” he said on Facebook yesterday, July 21.
(It is okay to be scared, my countrymen. I myself am afraid, but I know that nobody becomes brave without first being afraid.)
“Kahit na ano pang pag daanan natin sarili lang din natin ang may desisyon kung papatalo tayo. Kung babangon tayo o hindi. Kung pipiliin nating malungkot o humanap ng dahilan para sumaya wala nang iba,” Gloc-9 added.
The rapper then noted that it is up to an individual what he will make of his situation: “Kung babangon tayo o hindi. Kung pipiliin nating malungkot o humanap ng dahilan para sumaya wala nang iba.”
(If we are going to stand up or not. If we are going to choose to be sad or look for a reason to be happy, nothing else.)
“Kaya laban lang bangon lang lagi!!! Hanggat buhay ka pa may laban ka palagi tandaan mo yan!!!” Gloc-9 added. “Laban lang para sa mga Mahal natin Laban lang LAGI!!!!”
(So, just always fight and stand up! As long as you are alive, you always have the chance to fight, remember that! Just keep fighting for our loved ones, always!)
The rapper’s encouraging words seemed to have touched many hearts as his post has already garnered over 15,000 reactions and more than 2,000 shares since yesterday, as of this writing.
Gloc-9’s message also comes in line with his recently released song with singer Bugoy Drilon titled “Ahon,” where he likens life to a bicycle ride.
Just like his post, the rapper in the song urged others to continue riding even through steep paths, and to pick themselves up whenever they fall.
Gloc-9 also recently penned a message to inspire fellow small business owners who have resorted to selling their goods online amid the pandemic-induced quarantine.
The rapper emphasized that there is nothing to be ashamed of in selling goods online after he was told by a fan that it does not suit him. /ra
