Actor’s loyalty is all for show

12:15 AM July 19, 2020

Top actor (TA) has always been one of Tough Mentor’s (TM) favorites. It was obvious to everyone who knew them that theirs was a love-love relationship.

But TA’s loyalty to TM was recently put to the test when TM suddenly got sick and found himself needing all the help, financial and otherwise, he could get from now established celebs who benefited from TM’s influence and power in the biz.

Thankful Ingenue (TI) got the shock of her life when she reached out to TA to ask for a little financial help for TM. TI didn’t really expect a lot, but she sure wasn’t expecting what seemed to her like a brushoff. After refusing to “donate,” TA simply said, “Let’s just hope TM gets better soon.” End of discussion.

FEATURED STORIES

This week’s top show biz news from the tabloids (and why we are moved, if we are moved):

• Truth or fake nga ba ang kumakalat na litrato nina Markki Stroem at Marvin Agustin na magkatabi sa kama? (If they’re no longer an item, why should it matter now?)

• “Hindi pagkain ang mga babae,” Sunshine Cruz says as daughters become target of sexual remarks. (Carnivorous predators…)

• Alessandra de Rossi muntik mamatay sa pool scene; umamin na hindi si Paolo Contis ang first choice sa “Through Night and Day” na trending ngayon sa Netflix. (Moviegoers ignored this on the big screen. It’s now getting its second wind…)

• “Ang Probinsyano” ni Coco Martin umani ng 56,000 live views sa YouTube channel. (Inabangan din ng trolls.)

Catriona Gray

• Clint Bondad, Catriona Gray’s ex-boyfriend, trends after posting cryptic messages days after messaging Sam Milby. (The World—no, the Universe—is no longer his oyster.)

Ruffa Gutierrez

• Ruffa Gutierrez still dreams of starring in an independent film. (It would be a little hard to fulfill that in the time of Covid-19.)

• Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque criticizes ABS-CBN’s P400M Covid-19 donation; Angel Locsin fires back. Roque, she said, should be thanking the network instead of criticizing them. (Right, VP Leni? Whereas others prefer to spend their time posing with dolphins or posting unflattering videos on TikTok.)

•Singer-businesswoman Claire dela Fuente gets 7 years jail time for tax evasion. (Somebody must be singing “Sayang” now…)

• Vilma Santos prepared to face “consequences” for voting in favor of ABS-CBN franchise. (Would’ve been stranger if she voted “against” her network…)

• Gladys Guevarra now selling palitaw, kakanin; tells naysayer: “Anong problema dun?” (Exactly, Gladys. Why is this even an issue? It would probably be worse if she stayed idle, right? Gutom lang siguro—sa atensyon—naysayer…)

• House, business are part of Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla’s plans for their future. (Makes sense. They aren’t getting any younger.)

Richard Yap

• Richard Yap handa na daw maging Kapuso? (Huh? Where else should he go?)
