Soberano is among the stars of the media giant who has been vocal in her support of the franchise renewal.
Following the Congress vote on Friday, she tweeted, “To all the employees who are greatly affected by this. I’m sorry. I’m sorry they aren’t sorry.”
She also thanked supporters of ABS-CBN, telling them, “We may not be able to repay you right now, but in due time.”
To all the supporters of ABS-CBN, it’s programs, and it’s talents who stood by us through this journey. Thank you. Thank you for the endless tweets using the hashtags and thank you for your prayers. We may not be able to repay you right now, but in due time. 🙏🏼

After ABS-CBN was slapped with two more cease-and-desist orders on June 30 for Sky Direct and TVPlus, she questioned the time dedicated to tackling ABS-CBN’s franchise rather than on “ways to help our kababayans who are struggling during this pandemic.”
Congress’ decision came after multiple hours-long hearings from May to July where ABS-CBN executives were grilled by House representatives on issues such as ownership concerns, taxes and labor issues, among others. JB
