Dimples Romana pens heartfelt birthday message for ‘superhero’ brother Bam
Actress Dimples Romana penned a heartwarming birthday message for her younger brother, former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate Bam, who turns 31 years old today, July 9.
Dimples took to Instagram earlier today to share her favorite stolen photo of her brother, which turns out to have encapsulated Bam’s selfless and generous nature.
“This was back in 2014. I was driving and he asked me to stop, laging may dala yung kapatid ko na pagkain at inumin (my brother always has food and drinks with him),” the actress said.
“He would always take the time, go out of his way to help people. He is not rich. But he always had a heart ready to give and share,” Dimples added.
The said photo shows Bam giving food to street dwellers resting by the roadside, a moment captured by the doting sister who had nothing but praises for the birthday celebrator.

Bam, a known philanthropist, launched the Pandesal Project and the Coloring Book and Crayons Project years ago and has been constantly helping underprivileged children and senior citizens.
“You are a [real-life superhero]. You are a great example that you need not be rich to touch many lives. Papa would be proud. He must be watching from the heavens, smiling from ear to ear knowing he has done a great job of raising a kind, generous and noble man in you,” Dimples said.
Bam on his Instagram account, meanwhile, marked his birthday by noting that this is the first time in 10 years that he has not been able to celebrate it with the people he has been helping out.
“Isang Dekada.
(One decade. In 10 years, this is the first time ever that I never got to visit my brothers and sisters at the Cancer Warriors Foundation in Batangas, the naughty and extremely happy children of Tondo, and my grandmothers, mothers, fathers and grandfathers in Baclaran.)
(They often ask me when my actual birthday is. I got used to celebrating my birthday earlier with them every year. Then my actual birthday just passes by like a regular day.)

He then noted that while birthdays are often days full of joy that will then pass by, the pursuit to make others happy is the everyday challenge that God intends people to overcome.
(Days that even if they forget your birthday or name, it will not really matter because the love and care that they received and the incomparable happiness it brought me will never ever be forgotten.) /ra
