Moira Dela Torre dedicated a heartfelt performance of her song “Hanggang sa Huli” to ABS-CBN after two more cease-and-desist orders were issued to the network.
The National Telecommunications Commission ordered on June 30 the shutdown of Sky Direct, the direct broadcast satellite service of ABS-CBN subsidiary Sky Cable Corp., and TVPlus, ABS-CBN’s digital broadcast in Metro Manila.
The day after, Dela Torre penned a short yet thoughtful message for her home network alongside a clip of her singing “Hanggang sa Huli” on her Facebook page. The track speaks about standing by someone no matter what happens.
“To my [ABS-CBN] family, as the seasons get harder and harder, [I] hope you remember that this is all it’s gonna be — a hard season. Because at the end of the day, whatever other people might say about our family, this is always what we’re gonna be — a family,” she said.
“So along with all the families you have helped and all the lives you have touched, we want you to know we stand by you,” the singer added. “Mahigpit na yakap. Nandito kami hanggang sa huli (A tight hug. We are here until the end). #LabanKapamilya.”
“Hanggang sa Huli” is part of Dela Torre’s latest album called “Patawad” and serves as the theme song to the Julia Montes-starrer “24/7.”
Along with her singing career, Dela Torre is also a regular performer on ABS-CBN’s noontime variety show “ASAP Natin ‘To” and a judge on the reality singing competition “Idol Philippines.” /ra
