The game is afoot! The first stills of Millie Bobby Brown in the titular role of the upcoming film “Enola Holmes” with Henry Cavill and Sam Claflin have finally been released.

Brown took to Instagram yesterday, June 25, to treat fans to a peek at her look as the sister of genius brothers Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes in the movie.

Cavill will star as the infamous detective Sherlock, while Claflin will be playing Mycroft in the film adaptation of Nancy Springer’s series of detective novels, “The Enola Holmes Mysteries.” Springer’s novels, meanwhile, are based on the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Jack Thorne, who penned the two-part play “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,” wrote the film, while Emmy-winning director Harry Bradbeer is at the helm.

Brown, most famously known as Eleven from the sci-fi series “Stranger Things,” will be taking on her first case as the teenage sleuth in September, streaming service Netflix announced via Twitter yesterday, sharing one more still from the movie.

Just ahead of the film’s release, however, the Conan Doyle estate sued Springer and the streaming service for copyright infringement for the “unauthorized copying of original creative expression by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle” in copyrighted Sherlock Holmes stories.

It has been ruled that all of the stories about the famous detective before 1923 are public domain. Original elements from the last 10 Sherlock Holmes stories by Conan Doyle from 1923 to 1927, however, still fall under copyright.

The estate argues that Springer copied elements from both the public domain and copyrighted Sherlock Holmes stories which, in turn, the upcoming movie based on Springer’s novels have also copied as well.  /ra
