Rocco in his father’s likeness
In what ways are you similar to your dad? While we get a lot of reassurance from a mother’s nurturing love, a father’s sense of security and purpose helps prepare us further for much of the “adulting” that we need to figure out on our own.
For Father’s Day, we asked this Kapuso heartthrob Rocco Nacino what traits he got from his dad.
“One trait that I got from my father that I’m very proud of is the ability to always see the positive side of everything,” the actor, who’s in the cast of GMA 7’s Filipino adaptation of the Korean series “Descendants of the Sun,” told us. “And also, to accept the outcome of any given situation—just charge it to experience. You can always use that experience to make yourself better.”
Asked about his fondest memories of his dad as he was growing up, Rocco quickly singled out their bonding moments.
“My fondest memory would always be when he would teach me how to play golf,” he said. “Hilig niya talaga ’yun, so he started coaching me when I was a young boy. Up to now, golf is still our bonding activity. I cherish the moments he would stop me during my swing to give me tips. I see how happy it makes him to be able to teach me how to get better at golf.”
