The Shop & Share fundraising initiative of Angel Locsin and Anne Curtis has started providing its promised COVID-19 test kits to Filipinos in need.

“We’ve officially begun! Because of your overwhelming support we were able to provide 600 Covid-19 test kits for some of our stranded kababayans (countrymen) that reached out to us,” the Shop & Share team posted on Instagram earlier today, June 20.

“This is just the beginning and we promise to do our best to share the donations you have made to our kababayans (countrymen) that need it the most,” they added.

Through Curtis and Locsin’s Shop & Share, a project that aims to help underprivileged Filipinos get tested for COVID-19, several celebrities pledged to sell some of their pre-loved items to cover the expenses for the test kits.

They were able to raise P700,000 on their first day and get much more after several other stars volunteered to have their belongings sold. For one, Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray’s candidate pin for the pageant was sold for P250,000 earlier this month.

“Maraming maraming salamat po (Thank you very much) for supporting this cause. Stay tuned for more updates as we wrap up our online store Shop and Share in the next few weeks!” the Shop & Share team said.

Curtis and Locsin originally launched the initiative back in 2009 to help the victims of Typhoon Ondoy.  /ra
