Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo recalled her early days in the music industry as she marks the 17th year of her hit 2003 song “Sa Iyo.”
The multi-awarded artist was still struggling with her confidence as a teenage pop star back then, she said on Instagram yesterday, June 19.
“Sa Iyo was released over 17 years ago. Grabe how time flies! Ang bilis ng panahon (‘Sa Iyo was released over 17 years ago. It is amazing how time flies! It passed by so fast)!” Geronimo said.
“Bagong bago pa ako sa industriya at struggle pa ako noon sa confidence lalo na sa shoot. I was so nervous and shy! Pero this was just the beginning at sobra akong thankful for all the blessings that came into my life,” she added.
(I was fresh in the industry then and I struggled with my confidence, especially during shoots. I was so nervous and shy! But this was just the beginning and I am very thankful for all the blessings that came into my life.)
The pop star’s message came with a short snippet of her younger self dancing in the music video of “Sa Iyo.” The song is part of her debut album “Popstar: A Dream Come True.”
“At para sa mga naka appreciate ng Sa Iyo, stay tuned baka mag refreshed version coming soon para inyo (To those who appreciate ‘Sa Iyo,’ stay tuned because it might get a refreshed version coming soon for you guys),” Geronimo said.
Other than marking the 17th year of “Sa Iyo,” Geronimo also celebrated another achievement as the music video of the hit song “Tala” became the “most viewed OPM music video” yesterday after reaching over 141 million views on YouTube. /ra
